Exploring Space, Advancing Human Health Workshop & Symposium

On Wednesday, 10 June 2026, the Center for Space and Habitability at the University of Bern and the Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at Inselspital welcomed experts from ESA for a workshop and public symposium on space medicine.

CHEOPS Space Mission extended

Following the remarkable scientific achievements of the space telescope CHEOPS, ESA decided to extend the mission once again. CHEOPS, built at UniBE and its science operations center located at UniGE, will continue to operate until end of 2029.

Winds reveal strong hints of magnetic activity in exoplanets

An international research team involving the University of Bern has used high-resolution measurements with some of the world's most powerful telescopes to determine the wind speeds on seven very hot exoplanets similar to Jupiter.
